How to Update Live Streaming Protocol?

OneStream Live lets you select your preferred streaming protocol (e.g., RTMP or RTMPS) to ensure optimal compatibility and security for your broadcast.

To update the live streaming protocol from the web app, follow these steps:

Steps:

  • From your dashboard, click Encoder Streaming.

  • Select a stream key to begin.

  • Select Stream Keys from the right-hand sidebar.

  • Click Advanced Settings.

  • Click the Protocol dropdown to choose:

    • RTMP: Standard, fast, and widely supported (OBS, vMix, Zoom).

    • RTMPS: Secure version of RTMP with encryption, required by platforms like Facebook.

    • WHIP: Ultra-low latency protocol for real-time streaming.

    • SRT: Reliable, secure streaming over unstable networks.

  • Select your desired protocol from the list.

Your Server URL will update automatically based on your selection. Copy the new URL into your streaming software.
