How to Live Stream on a Facebook Group?

Live streaming in a Facebook group lets you broadcast live or pre-recorded videos. It’s a great way to engage with your connections, share updates, host events, or interact directly with viewers.

Prerequisites

  • The Facebook Group must be connected to your Facebook account.

  • You must be a Facebook Group Admin with permission to publish Live Videos.

  • The group must be eligible for Facebook Live streaming.

To connect to a Facebook group, follow these steps.

Connect Group with Onestream Live:

  • From the left sidebar, click Social Platforms.

  • Click Add Platform or click Connect next to Facebook to link it.

  • Select Facebook.

  • Log in with your Facebook email and password.

  • Click Connect next to the Facebook group.

  • Enter the group name, and select Auto Detect.

Creating Event:

  • Complete the post details, then choose to go live now or later.

Make sure the persistent key is toggled off in the advanced settings.

  • Copy the Stream Key and paste it into OneStream Live Custom RTMP settings.

  • Click Connect.

  • Once the Facebook Group is connected, you can schedule pre-recorded videos or go live in real-time or through OneStream Live Studio.

  • The stream will be sent to the Facebook Live producer automatically on the set date & time.

  • To publish the stream to your Facebook Group, you must click the Go Live button. The stream will be live on your Facebook Group and visible to group members

To automatically publish a stream without manually clicking Go Live, you must create an event in your Facebook Group.
