How to Troubleshoot Video Quality Issues in OneStream Live Studio?

Last updated on Aug 05, 2026

If your video quality appears low or degraded during a OneStream Live Studio session, the issue may be related to your camera settings, browser, internet connection, or device performance. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to improve your video quality.

Check Camera Settings and Hardware

  • Click the Settings icon below the preview canvas in OneStream Live Studio.

  • In the Camera section, select the highest available video resolution.

  • Make sure you have sufficient lighting for a clear and sharp video.

  • Check that your camera supports higher resolutions, such as HD or Full HD.

Studio uses your camera's highest supported resolution; upgrade your camera for better quality if needed.

Check Your Browser

  • Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.

  • Disable ad blockers and unnecessary browser extensions.

  • If the issue persists, try using a different browser.

Google Chrome is recommended for the best experience.

Check Your Internet Connection

A slow or unstable internet connection may affect your video quality.

  • Run an internet speed test and check your upload speed.

  • We recommend an upload speed of at least 10 Mbps, with 25 Mbps or higher being ideal.

  • Restart your modem or router if your connection is unstable.

  • Use an Ethernet cable for a more stable connection whenever possible.

  • If using Wi-Fi, move closer to your router.

  • Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) if low speeds continue.

Check Your Device Performance

High CPU usage can affect Studio performance and video quality.

For Windows

  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.

  • Open Task Manager.

  • Check your CPU usage.

For Mac

  • Open Launchpad.

  • Open Activity Monitor.

  • Check your CPU usage.

If CPU usage is 80% or higher:

  • Close unnecessary applications running in the background.

  • Keep your laptop connected to a power source.

  • Restart your device.

  • Lower the camera resolution in Studio.

  • If the issue persists, consider using a device with better processing power.
